Information Technology Subscription Services

Rationale

Put in an “out” clause. No matter how great the deal looks, put in an “out” clause so that both parties may terminate the partnership relatively easily. This may seem counter intuitive, but if companies know that they can get out of something, they'll work harder to make it successful. This is because easy out clauses can increase motivation: “We'd better keep up our end of the bargain because we need these guys, and they can walk.”
-- Guy Kawaski, The Art of Partnering

AnotherSocialEconomy: Brokering Consumer Demand with local Retailers' available Supply - via simple messages, for f(r)ee, or, Reverse Retailing.

From a consumer's point-of-view...

it's like they looked for a local retailer in the Yellow Pages (business directory) & called all of the listings at once.

As a Consumer, I know exactly what I want, whereabouts I want to purchase it and would like to be notified (anonymously) by local retailers who have it in stock, so I don't have to spend more time & energy trying to find something like a "Nintendo Wii Console".

From a retailer's point-of-view...

we're like Google Local Shopping but for small & medium businesses who don't have the infrastructure to participate. Their only barrier for entry is an email address, but for sure a web site would be nice to have.

As a Retailer, I'd like to be notified of local consumers looking for items I have in stock, so I can advertise directly to them, thereby saving me inventory costs and advertising for head-of-the-tail items, like "Nintendo Wii Console".

edu.cyn.in

Social software in schools

edu.cyn.in logo

Are you a parent, or, educator of pre-teens? Do your kids, or, students crave social networking sites – like Facebook, MSN, Flickr and YouTube – to name just a few? Do you feel these kids need a safe place to share and express themselves? Do you wish their schools could somehow channel all that technical savvy and combine that boundless energy and into a positive learning environment?

Inspired by social software experts who are also parents, edu.cyn.in empowers schools and extra-curricular activities to take full advantage of the latest in these Internet technologies by:

  1. mentoring students, parents and staff on how to express, share, collaborate and self-organize themselves
  2. optionally, integrating these technologies into the schools' everyday curriculum.

This new learning environment -edu 2.0, knows no borders like a physical classroom. So with the right permissions, similar classrooms, or, activities can collaborate in other regions – like cities, states, provinces and countries. Imagine a safe collaborative learning environment across international date-lines, timezones and languages. Some International Night, eh?

So instead of limiting these kids' access to Internet technologies, wouldn't it make mores sense to simply channel their access? Capitalize on their natural need to further develop their technical skills and their enthusiasm to share with their peers. And perhaps, once you're there anyway, grant yourself the opportunity...
